The donuts here are honestly the best I've ever tasted. The chocolate fingers actually taste like chocolate. Some places it's just sugar you taste but not here, the textured is soft and fresh and not dry or crumbly. I also tried the pumpkin chocolate chip loaf and it was SO moist and flavorful. The girls there are mostly young but very sweet and helpful. It's a quaint little place inside for coffee and pastries, not large but most people are taking things home . I wish there were more like them . Also heads up cash or check is what they take, NO cards at all.
I recently reached out to them via Messenger, because I was in a situation where I could not find anyone to make a small cake for my son's graduation. I was also looking for specifically a vanilla whipped type of frosting. I had tried a few places, and no one could help me. Not only were they extremely helpful and accommodating, they made exactly the cake that we were hoping for! They literally saved the day. It was one of the best cakes we've ever had. The frosting was so light and fluffy. I will definitely order from them again in the future.!!!
Since moving to Utica a few months ago I've been sampling the many bakeries in the area, and while there are a lot of very good ones, Gingerbread Bake Shop is my favorite so far. The cinnamon buns (there is nothing better with a good cup of coffee) and Boston cream donuts (the perfect ratio of cream to donut to chocolate) are some of my favorites. The muffins are tasty, and you should grab a strawberry muffin if they're on offer: the strawberry flavor is especially intense! The holiday specialty items are great. I especially enjoyed the cheesecake cupcake at Valentine's Day. The staff is welcoming and efficient, ready to answer any questions. As noted in other reviews, it is cash-only and they do sell out early. Gingerbread Bake Shop is more than worth getting up a little early and making a trip to the ATM.
Under the radar local cash only bakery that makes the freshest pastries you can imagine Hypes : - cakes and cupcakes - soft , solid flavor, soft , and a great buttercream - danishes - the raspberry and cherry and popular and sell out by 10am, the nut ones are also delicious - almond or walnut - Their black and white cookie is probably the best in the area -soft with a delicious frosting on top - They're glazed donut is also one of my favorites in the area - Their snowflake rolls are extremely popular for dinners and Thanksgiving - they have great seasonal pies and goodies! Gripes: - i wish the interior was a little nicer so you can sit nicely and enjoy your coffee and pastry there - if they accepted cards it would save me a lot of trips to the atm!
Gingerbread bake shop is the best bakery in Oneida County. They have the best cakes, icing, and half moons. We connected with Jaime to get a cake baked for our wedding. It came out beautiful! We went with layers of raspberry and lemon cake with raspberry cream and buttercream icing. It was absolutely delicious. They don't use artificial coloring which is a plus! I HIGHLY recommend Gingerbread Bake Shop for all baked goods and beautiful wedding cakes.
The best baked goods in the area. Yeah, I said it. This spot far outshines any other bakery in the area. The inside is plain Jane but what they are serving up is phenomenal. My favorite is a classic chocolate finger. The frosting is nice and gooey, complemented by the ultimate fluffy dough underneath. The cookies, cakes, donuts can't be beat. Don't sleep on the snowflake rolls, they are the best you'll ever eat. Cash only.
My Dad swears these are the best Half Moons in the Utica Area of the iconic half moon and I can't disagree. I was never a huge fan of the half moon as I don't like cake and to me they are cake cookies, however the ones from here are more fudgy like a brownie and I am here for it! Get here early in the day because this bakery is no secret and gets picked over quickly! There is small seating inside and coffee, but most people come for take out. I don't think you can go wrong with anything but the danish, apple rolls, and cinnamon rolls are favorites besides the half moons. Apple items are truly their strong point! It is cash or check only so come prepared and your taste buds won't be sorry!
When I used to live in the Utica area, I ordered all my cakes from this bakery. They were great, friendly, and had the most moist cake I ever had! You should really give them a try!
